Tis But a Flesh Wound!

Tis But a Flesh Wound! The Election Result.

I took part in a fair bit of commentary and information in the run-up to the general election, mainly in the Election Countdown podcasts. And I expected SNP to lose seats but nothing like as many as actually happened. The result came as quite a blow as the map of Scotland turned red.

Then last week I was part of a post-election livestream: a chat about how I and my co-presenters at Scottish Independence Podcasts were feeling and what reflections we had on that result. We don’t normally do live broadcasts. But I enjoyed the challenge and I enjoyed responding live to the comments that came in!

Friend of the podcast – Lynne Dougan – was with us for the livestream. Lynne was at the count of the Alloa and Grangemouth constituency and gave us some behind the scenes insights as to what goes on through the night of an election. And it was Lynne who provided the title! I must admit I felt it was much more than a mere flesh wound. But I had cheered up by the end of the livestream.
